Gesharim – Studies in the History of the Jews of Central Europe – is a series of monographs written on the history of Central European Jewry. The books are the works of both young and well established scholars. They offer the Hebrew reading public new and classic studies relating to the social, religious, and cultural life of German-speaking Jews in the modern era. The series is issued jointly by the Leo Baeck Institute Jerusalem for research on German and Central European Jewry and the Zalman Shazar Center for the History of the Jewish People.
