Membership in the Leo Baeck Institute Jerusalem – be a part of our work and support it!

As part of an international organization, the Leo Baeck Jerusalem Institute is committed to the study and documentation of German-Jewish history and culture in Israel since 1955. The institute was established mostly by German Jews who had escaped Germany after Hitler’s rise to power and as argued by historian Guy Miron, transformed over the years from a community of memory into a research institute.

Our activity centers on promoting the study on the history and culture of German and German-speaking Jews – particularly in Hebrew. In addition, we bear the public responsibility for keeping that knowledge base vibrant and relevant. To do so, we offer the public, free of charge, a rich and diverse program of high-quality events. You are welcome to enjoy these online, and as soon as possible, as in the past, in our physical location as well.

We are delighted to invite you to become a member of the Leo Baeck family and support us continually in our mission. The annual cost of membership is NIS 200 (150 for students and senior citizens), but you may pay less or more, according to your affordability. Should you decide to terminate your membership, you may do so in writing, at the end of each year. Members are entitled to a 20 percent discount on buying books on our website bookstore, as well as to a free subscription to our annual journal Hidushim, written in Hebrew.
