Call for proposals for the 2025 Annual German Studies Conference, Israel: Language, Culture, and Society
The conference aims to foster connections, collaborations, and the exchange of ideas among Israeli and international scholars of all career stages within the German Studies research community. Whether in the humanities, the social sciences, law, media studies, or any other relevant area of research, are
encouraged to participate and attend, as long as it pertains to the German-speaking world.
We especially encourage comparative and interdisciplinary contributions that place German issues within a global, transnational, environmental, or theoretical context.
University faculty, post-doctoral scholars, and graduate students are warmly invited to submit proposals.
We are interested in significant scholarly proposals from interdisciplinary perspectives, which could harbor constructive discussion within a growing intellectual community.
Proposals submitted must include the following:
- Panel: panel title, the names of the three prospective presenters and the sitting chair to regulate and respond to the panel. Please attach an abstract describing the panel’s topic and each talk (up to 1,000 words), along with the CV of each participant.
- Talk: talk title, name of prospective presenter, and an abstract (up to 250 words), along with the
presenter’s CV.
Each talk is limited to 20 minutes, with responses up to 10 minutes, and panels are limited to up to an hour and a half. All talks must be delivered in Hebrew or English.
The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2025.
Please send your submissions to GermanStudiesIsrael@leobaeck.org.
Sincerely, The organizing committee
