ORAL HISTORY WORKSHOP
- Zoom Meeting
Dr. Linde Apel, Forschungsstelle für Zeitgeschichte in Hamburg
Beyond 1968.
Political Mobilization in the Seventies
Moderator: Dr. Irene Aue-Ben-David
The lecture will address an interview project that focuses on voices that have barely been heard. These interviews were conducted with women and men who in their youth, in the 1970s, were not associated with the political mainstream of 1968, but were affiliated with conservative groups. Linde Apel interviewed them in order to find out how they were involved at the time and how they interpret this today.
Since this project is part of the Werkstatt der Erinnerung, the oral history archive of the research center for contemporary history, Apel will also briefly discuss the history of this institution, on the assumption that this context, alongside other aspects, shaped the way that the interviewees spoke about their youth and their activity.
